Hometown Christmas will look a little different this year, and we are excited to share what we have planned!
After reviewing feedback from our community survey and speaking with downtown businesses, Bloomfield Main Street has decided to move Hometown Christmas back one week. The holiday season brings a busy stretch of events and activities, and this change will provide a short break before we begin celebrating Hometown Christmas together.
This year’s main Hometown Christmas festivities will take place Thursday, December 10, through Saturday, December 12, with additional holiday events happening throughout the month.
Taking a Break From Festival of Trees

Bloomfield Main Street has also decided to take a break from the Festival of Trees in 2026.
Festival of Trees has been enjoyed by many people over the years, but participation from tree decorators and bidders has gradually declined. We understand that businesses, organizations, and families are balancing limited time and tighter budgets during an already busy season.
Rather than continue the event in the same way, we decided to pause it for a year and use the opportunity to offer several new activities and fundraisers. This year we will have two trees that will be displayed at local businesses for two weeks before Hometown Christmas. These will be the only two trees we will auction off this year. These will be silent auctions like the event in the past. We will see how these changes are received and use community feedback to help shape future Hometown Christmas celebrations.
