Bloomfield Main Street a 2025 AARP Challenge Grant Recipient

We are excited to share some incredible news—Bloomfield Main Street has been selected to receive a 2025 AARP Community Challenge Grant! Out of more than 3,450 applications from across all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, we are honored to be one of only 383 organizations chosen to receive this impactful award.

With this quick-action grant, we will be implementing two important projects that improve safety, comfort, and accessibility in downtown Bloomfield:

  • Repainting crosswalks around the square following the City of Bloomfield’s street resurfacing project
  • Installing additional benches throughout the Main Street district

These improvements will enhance daily life for people of all ages—but especially for those age 50 and older—by making it easier and safer to navigate our community and providing more welcoming spaces to rest and connect with others.

“We are incredibly proud that AARP selected Bloomfield Main Street for this investment to make our downtown more livable,” said Jen Cutler, Executive Director of Bloomfield Main Street. “AARP is a national leader in creating age-friendly places, and we’re honored they recognize the value this project will bring to our residents and visitors alike.”
