Bloomfield Main Street is excited to announce the completion of our Pet Friendly and Picture Ready Project, made possible through funding from a Community Foundation Grant.
This project focused on two simple but meaningful ways to make downtown Bloomfield more welcoming—for the people who live here, the visitors exploring our community, and even the four-legged friends joining them.
Making Downtown More Pet Friendly
We love seeing people walk their dogs around the Bloomfield square. To help keep our downtown clean and enjoyable for everyone, Bloomfield Main Street purchased dog waste bag dispensers and supplies that have been installed at convenient locations around the square.
We want to give a special shout-out to the City of Bloomfield for helping install the dispensers on the downtown light poles. Partnerships like this allow us to take ideas and turn them into improvements that benefit the entire community.
These stations may seem like a small addition, but amenities like these make downtown more inviting, encourage responsible pet ownership, and help create a cleaner experience for residents, visitors, and downtown businesses.
Helping Visitors Capture the Perfect Shot
Our historic Davis County Courthouse is one of Bloomfield’s most recognizable landmarks. Throughout the year, people travel to our community to admire the building, learn about its history, and take photos from around the square.
With our new Picture Ready Project, visitors no longer have to guess where to stand for the best view!
Sidewalk stickers have been placed around the square to identify locations that provide a “perfect shot” of the courthouse from each side. New signs on the southeast corner of the square explain how the project works and share additional information with visitors.
After taking their photo, participants can scan a QR code to share it with Bloomfield Main Street. They can also submit their ZIP code, helping us learn where our visitors are traveling from and giving us valuable information about downtown tourism.
The photos shared with us will help showcase Bloomfield through the eyes of those who experience it. They may also support future storytelling and promotional efforts as we continue inviting people to discover our historic downtown.
We would also like to thank the City of Bloomfield for helping us install the Picture Ready signs. Their assistance with both parts of this project played an important role in bringing our vision to life.
Small Improvements with a Lasting Impact
Placemaking is about creating spaces where people feel welcome, connected, and encouraged to stay a little longer. From making it easier to explore downtown with a pet to helping visitors capture a memorable view of our courthouse, this project adds to the experience of spending time in Bloomfield.
